Mimi’s Raisin Dressing

ingredients
- 20–24 slices day-old bread
- 1 small onion, diced
- ½ stick butter
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 box raisins
- 1 tbsp. allspice
- 1–2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
directions
- Cube bread the day before. Place in bowl on counter and let dry, stirring occasionally.
- Melt the butter and pour over bread cubes. Mix.
- Add the onion, sugar, allspice, and raisins. Mix well.
- In separate bowl, thoroughly beat eggs. Add milk and mix well. Pour over the bread cubes and mix well. It should be moist, but not soggy. Shape into ball.
- Butter some foil and put the dressing on it. Bake at 375°for an hour, or with the last hour of the turkey.
