Pickled Red Onions

ingredients
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp salt
- Red onion, thinly sliced
- Black peppercorns
- Crushed red pepper (optional)
- (optional)
directions
- Mix vinegar, water, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Add the sliced red onion into a jar and pour the vinegar mixture over them.
- Add a few black peppercorns. Add crushed red pepper and/or a few jalepeño coins to add heat if desired.
- Chill and serve with other recipes.
